Rhinebeck Crew delivered one of the strongest championship performances in program history this weekend at the New York State Scholastic Rowing Championships on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, with nearly every boat advancing to the finals against a field of 65 crews from across the state.
The regatta was highlighted by a historic showing from the girls’ team, which earned two state medals — an achievement believed to be unmatched in Rhinebeck Crew history.
Leading the way was the Girls Junior/U17 8+, which captured a bronze medal with an outstanding third-place finish and secured qualification for the Scholastic National Championship Regatta in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The boat was coxed by Sammy Erdman, with Sadie Pomerantz in bow seat, Bennet Pulver in the 2 seat, Lucy Fleming in the 3 seat, Sheila Garguilo in the 4 seat, Zettie Weld in the 5 seat, Rose Wheeler in the 6 seat, Laila Orr in the 7 seat, and Makayla Robinson rowing stroke.
The Girls Freshman 4+ also delivered a remarkable performance, earning second place and bringing home a silver medal for Rhinebeck Crew. The boat was coxed by Charli Goodsight, with Millicent Colosi-Dyson in bow seat, Silvana Walter in the 2 seat, Ella Eckert in the 3 seat, and Vika Hasselmark rowing stroke.
The results capped a memorable championship weekend and reflected the continued growth, depth, and competitiveness of the Rhinebeck Crew program.
